Description
Workshop is a Detroit-based company that designs and builds hand made modern furniture using lumber reclaimed from Detroit's vacant and abandoned homes and buildings.
Each piece of lumber is hand-selected to display and accentuate its reclaimed character, often showing machining marks from 100-year-old Michigan sawmills. The milled tops reveal the inner beauty of the lumber and offer a snapshot of its life over the past nearly 100 years inside a home, revealing nail holes, beautiful grain patterns and sometimes even nails left behind.
Every Workshop furniture piece is designed and built in the city of Detroit and comes with the street addressof the house from where the lumber was reclaimed stamped/engraved into its underside, signifying its place in Detroit history.
