As the new presenting sponsor of America’s Thanksgiving Parade®, we thought it would be a great idea to get to know our new family. We recently got the opportunity to tour The Parade Company in Detroit! Here are some pictures of our tour where we learned so much about the history of this famous Detroit parade.
Some facts we learned:
• They have over 300 big heads and make a new one every year.
• Big heads used to be made in Italy and shipped here, but now they are made in house.
• Their warehouse is 200,000 sq. ft.
• Distinguished clowns get custom costumes made. When they reach a certain number of years, their costume gets upgraded!
