Neighborhood Legal Services Michigan (NLSM) a 501(c) (3) nonprofit human services agency has been serving the community with legal services since 1966. NLSM provides legal, education and housing programs. Educational programming includes Moot Court; conflict resolution; alcohol and drug awareness; motivational and professional development subject matters. Housing services provides both Rapid Rehousing and Permanent Supportive Housing; First Time Homebuyer Workshops; and Mortgage Foreclosure assistance. NLSM is also working to fill the need for services to Victims of Human Trafficking. Elder Law & Advocacy Center provides legal services to senior citizens and caregivers.

Gilda’s Club Metro Detroit is cancer support community offering free programming to families facing cancer – whether diagnosed or caring for a parent, grandparent, sibling or friend facing cancer. Gilda’s helps families build a strong toolkit to face the complexities of cancer. More than 160 support and bereavement groups, education lectures and workshops and wellness options, support men, women and children. Gilda’s Club has facilities and programming in Royal Oak, St. Clair Shores, Detroit, Dearborn and Farmington Hills to ensure no one faces cancer alone.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: Gilda’s Club is a facility with a home-like setting. The main Clubhouse has beautiful gardens and grounds that need upkeep from Spring and Fall cleanup and maintenance to weekly cleanup; deep cleaning inside, sanitizing of toys and books; volunteer event support for three signature events. Lectures, social gathering volunteers to support our members; front desk volunteers at three locations and any volunteer fundraising.
