Assistance League of Southeastern Michigan

Assistance League of Southeastern Michigan, founded in 1993 serving Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties ,is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) hands-on, all member volunteer organization ,whose purpose is to clothe, feed, educate, and comfort infants, children, and adults through community-based programs. Our signature Philanthropic Program, Operation School Bell, provides new school clothing and/or necessities for elementary and middle school children.

WISH LIST: Assistance League operates ReSale Connection, an upscale shop in downtown Rochester. We accept gently used women’s clothing and necessities, household goods, and small furniture items.

Play-Place Autism & Special Needs Center

The goal of Play-Place Autism and Special Needs Center’s 25,000 square foot cutting-edge facility is to provide comprehensive services, educational opportunities, numerous therapies, coaching and feedback, and life/work experiences that will work with each individual’s identified strengths and maximize their potential for growth and development, independence, self-esteem and improve their quality of life.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: Play-Place Autism and Special Needs Center needs patient, caring, smiling volunteers that love children! Our center is for children and young adults affected by autism and other special
needs. This is a community-wide volunteer effort to serve more than 8,000 tri-county area families. Choose from a variety of impact projects such as: share your passion for arts & crafts in our Art Studio, guide creative projects in our Lego Room, assist in our Computer Cafe, welcome our families and guests as they arrive or help in our family Bistro. Volunteer three to four hours of your time and inspire for a lifetime. Sign up for one shift, multiple shifts or even the same shift each week. We truly value our volunteers for the incredible difference they make in these children’s lives!
