Penrickton Center for Blind Children

Penrickton Center for Blind Children serves children who are blind and multiply handicapped, including developmental delay, orthopedic problems, autism and seizure disorders. Our center’s mission is unique in that we are provide a five-day residential, day-care and consultation program to help each child become as independent as possible through the Active Learning Theory. Penrickton Center is a non-profit agency that receives no state, federal or United Way funding. There is no charge to the families of the children we serve. All of the money is raised from individuals in the community, service clubs and other groups.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: Penrickton Center depends on volunteers to fulfill multiple needs. These include working around the building and grounds with general upkeep such as painting, yard work, etc. Tasks include stuffing mail and educational materials, volunteering at large fundraising events, providing life experiences such as music and horseback riding, and working directly with the children (following intensive training).
