In a perfect world, there is “a place for everything and everything in its place.” However, for most of us, there simply isn’t enough room to store everything in our homes. Gardner White wants to help you get your clutter under control! Here are our 5 tips on how to maximize space in your living room, bedroom, and beyond!
How To Maximize Storage Space
How to maximize space in your home.
- Include furnishings with built-in storage options in your living room.
One of the hot new trends in furniture is storage sectionals and sofas. Many pieces now come with hidden compartments, either in the headrest area, armrests, or inside a center console between seats. Shop our living room pieces here.
- Include storage ottomans and benches throughout your home.
If you don’t have enough room for a large sectional, try incorporating a storage ottoman into your living room instead. Ottomans can add a different texture or a pop of color while storing blankets, throw pillows, and TV remotes. Your living room will be uncluttered in no time! Benches can be added to just about any room, the bedroom, the hallway, the living room, the office, anywhere really! Shop our ottomans here. You can shop for benches here.
- Include TV consoles with space for all of your electronics.
The prevailing trend for TVs is to mount them directly to the wall. However, a TV console can be the answer to large DVD or video game collections, video game consoles, electronic equipment, books, and much more. Start organizing! Shop our entertainment consoles here.
- Augment dining room and kitchen storage with furniture pieces that offer storage options.
Kitchen cupboards can sometimes overflow due to lack of excess space, or too many items in need of being stored. Adding a china cabinet, a buffet, or a server to your dining room can be extremely useful. Also, there are some dining room sets that offer options like drawers and shelving as well! Shop for dining room furniture here.
- Incorporate bedroom furniture with hidden storage options.
Beds with hidden drawers and cabinets are becoming increasingly popular for good reason. When closets start to overflow, suddenly shoes and clothes no longer have a place. Kids’ rooms are also notorious for clutter; hidden cabinets and drawers can be the perfect place to hide away toys and clothes! Shop our bedroom pieces here.
