Our H.O.M.E. Pantry

The mission of the pantry is not only to provide meals, but to offer other needed resources, opportunities and empowerment. The pantry falls under the City of Garden City’s Community Resources Department, which offers pantry clients no-cost state benefits application assistance to enroll them for health insurance and/or other assistance programs. The pantry is also under the Family Resource Center, which offers youth and family groups, such as Strengthening Families, along with many other resources. The pantry is by appointment only, each person in the household receives 10 pounds of food per month. There is a 50-pound maximum per household. The pantry serves Garden City residents only.

AREAS SERVED: Wayne County

Any non-perishable items are needed in the pantry. We are also looking for volunteers to help with pantry stock.

We have several opportunities for volunteering. Stocking shelves in the afternoon, picking up weekly Gleaners order, pantry shoppers and picking up at the local Starbucks weekly.

AGE OF VOLUNTEERS? All ages welcome, although an adult must accompany children.
