Kadima provides comprehensive residential, therapeutic and social services to all people with mental health needs as they move forward in their lives. Kadima delivers these services while providing education and outreach to the broader community to ensure positive mental health outcomes for all.

Kadima has many great volunteer opportunities for individuals, groups and families. Our annual Gardening Day takes place at the beginning of June and is a great one-time event for individuals, families, groups and business teams.  There are also ongoing opportunities working directly with clients, as well as many committee roles, including the Lois Zussman Kadima Golf Classic, Engagement Committee and Creative Expressions Council.


Arts & Scraps






Arts & Scraps reimagines 28 tons of recycled material, inspiring 275,000 people of all ages to think, create and learn. Programs are a community store, curriculum-oriented workshops for all ages, creative activities at public events and kits for classrooms and individuals.

These are items we must purchase: children’s scissors, packaging tape, cleaning supplies/liquid hand soap, copy paper, rolls of standard paper towels for dispenser. Visit http://ArtsAndScraps.org for a list of materials from home or business you may be throwing away.

Groups ages 8 and up (maximum of 25 volunteers) can visit the air-conditioned, heated private warehouse to prepare materials and pack kits; scheduled at the group’s convenience. Call Tonia at 313-640-9050. Small groups (maximum of 5) can assist in the store on Monday. Call Deborah at 313-640-4411 x 4. Individuals can drop in the store during open hours (Tuesday, Thursday 11a.m.- 6 p.m., Saturday 11a.m. – 4p.m.) to help. Check website calendar for event activities throughout the metro area. Volunteers aged 8 and up help families at creative centers. Registration is online through the site. Individuals can also volunteer in their area of expertise.

Gardner-White Furniture’s explosive growth has left us with plenty of great positions to fill. On Tuesday, June 27, 2017, Gardner-White recruiters will be interviewing applicants at all nine store locations. If you have experience, skill, drive and a desire to be part of a winning team- we’re talking to you.

Jobs are available at select Gardner-White locations, including the Auburn Hills distribution center. Gardner-White is hiring to support growth, both at new stores and in current locations.  Metro Detroiters have been receptive to Gardner-White’s value proposition; therefore staff is needed to support increased demand.

Gardner-White Furniture has been a Michigan owned-and-operated furniture company since 1912. Gardner-White’s mission is to offer value-conscious consumers with excellent service and selection. Gardner-White has expanded and innovated significantly in the past three years. In 2012, Gardner-White expanded operations and moved into a state-of-the-art 450,000 square foot distribution center in Auburn Hills. In 2013, Gardner-White became the first furniture company in the Midwest to offer same-day delivery to its customers.

The majority of available jobs are for sales associates. Gardner-White will hire candidates who possess passion and commitment to excellence. New salespeople will attend three weeks of PAID professional training.

Gardner-White sales associates have unlimited salary potential. Average sales income is $52,000 annually, with top earners at over $100,000 annually. Coalition on Temporary Shelter (COTS)






COTS is a family only homeless shelter. We assist families in reaching their housing, economic, health, education and career goals through coaching, mentorship and support as they strive to overcome homelessness and break the cycle of poverty for next generation and beyond. Volunteer Opportunities include meal service, child care and tutoring.

Casting Call: Survivor

Do you have what it takes to be the ultimate Survivor? Head to CBS 62′s open casting call!

CBS 62 is holding an open casting call for Survivor, Thursday, June 15th, from 3-7pm at Gardner-White Furniture in Auburn Hills.

The “Survivor” cameras roll 24/7 as contestants participate in both team and individual challenges, competing to keep their places on the remote location. A Tribal Council meets weekly, and after group votes, competitors are eliminated and forced to extinguish their torches. Each challenge, the competition gets stiffer, emotions fly higher, and the level of perseverance demanded continues to rise.

One player is voted off each week, until one person finishes strong in the final challenge and is deemed the “Sole Survivor” and winner of a $1 million cash gift.

Each applicant attending the Survivor Casting Call will need to bring a signed video release form, along with a valid United States driver’s license or passport. Each person will be videotaped by CBS Detroit and will have one minute to explain why they should be a contestant on “Survivor.” Photo ID required upon arrival. Please bring your signed Video Release Form to your audition.
