One Person Can Make a Difference

WJBK FOX 2, and Gardner-White Furniture have been teaming up since 2001 to bring you this Holiday Connection Wish List. The book highlights the needs of local charitable organizations – making it easy for you to give back.

This is a community that gives back even when times are hard. We all hear the numbers – more people than ever before are living in poverty. With times so tough in Michigan some residents say it’s hard to hang onto hope.

But hope can start with just one person. One person can make a big difference. You don’t need money to be charitable. There are many opportunities to share during the holiday season and throughout the year. When times are tough it’s important to reach out and help those in our community. This annual Holiday Connection Wish List can guide you in that effort.

Whether you have items or time to give – the Wish List connects you to the agencies and people who need your help. Some wishes are holiday-related. Other wishes are for items or volunteers that are needed to help people in southeastern Michigan all year long.

The amazing nonprofits in this Wish List do so much for so many. But ours is a community in crisis – and they can’t do it alone.

Take some time to look through the book and get to know how you can help the agencies serving your community. You have the power to make a tremendous impact on these organizations and the countless people they serve.

We thank you for your generosity during this holiday season and all year long.

Hi Jeanette! I am with the Detroit non-profit Enchanted Makeovers and we have been trying to get information as to how we can be a part of the 2012 Holiday Guide. You indicated we should contact Fox News directly. I have called them at least 5 times and left messages for the community service director but can’t get through. Is there another way we can get to someone who can help us? I really appreciate your guideance. Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!
