The majority of available jobs are for sales associates. Gardner-White will hire candidates who possess passion and commitment to excellence. New salespeople will attend three weeks of PAID professional training.

Gardner-White sales associates have unlimited salary potential. Average sales income is $52,000 annually, with top earners at over $100,000 annually. Gardner-White offers paid training, an affordable benefit package including health, dental, vision, flex spending account, voluntary life insurance, short and long term disability, along with the option of 401K investing.

Industry veteran signs on as Executive VP of Sales

Auburn Hills, MI 12/7/15:  Gardner-White Furniture announced today that Kathy Veltri has joined the company in the newly created role of Executive VP of Sales.

“We are delighted to welcome Kathy to our team,” said Steve Tronstein, Gardner-White CEO, “Her track record speaks for itself. Gardner-White will benefit from her vast experience in the selling side of the retail furniture business. We expect Kathy to be a key player as we execute the next phase of our growth plan.”

Kathy Veltri has served as president of Thomasville Home Furnishings through 2014. Prior to Thomasville, she was senior vice president of marketing and stores at Arhaus Furniture. Veltri said, “Gardner-White is a wonderful company and a perfect fit for me. It’s not that often today to find a furniture retailer that has a great reputation and a true desire to maintain their core values while poised for growth and expansion!”

Gardner-White also announced that Pat Sebastian, respected and storied industry veteran and director of sales training will retire in mid-2016. Rachel Tronstein, president of Gardner-White said, “Pat has created the Gardner-White culture. In my three years at Gardner-White he has mentored me and taught me our core values that we will bring forward.”

Also announced today, the promotion of Pamela Novak-George to vice president of store operations, from director of store operations. “Pam has brought structure and discipline to Gardner-White stores. Her efforts were integral to making us Top 100,” Rachel Tronstein said. “We are excited to see her rise within Gardner-White and bring our stores to the next level.”

Employee Spotlight: Steve N.

Ever wonder what it’s like to work in the Delivery Department at Gardner-White? We interviewed our Delivery Manager, Steve N., in our Warehouse to give you a little insight on what it’s like to work at Gardner-White.

GW: How many years have you worked at Gardner-White?

SN: I’ve worked at Gardner-White for 15 years.

 

GW: Describe some of your day-to-day duties.

SN: I am in charge of all the delivery teams.  I handle all delivery issues with the stores, customers, and driver/helper teams.  Some of the duties that I perform include scheduling all drive teams to make deliveries, training drivers and helpers how to effectively load their truck and deliver clean product to the customers.  I am also involved in routing of all orders including morning, late, and same day stops. 

 

GW: What is your favorite part about being the Delivery Manager?

SN: The favorite part of my job is dealing with all the different personalities throughout the day and the challenges that it brings.

 

GW: What is your favorite part about the company?

SN: The opportunity that they have provided me to continue to advance and move up throughout the years.

 

GW: What qualities should someone possess to do your job effectively?

SN: The qualities someone needs to do my job include patience, discipline, and a vast knowledge of how to deliver furniture. They must also be a good leader.

 

GW: What’s your favorite item at Gardner-White?

SN: The Hamlin Buff living room set.

 

GW: Do you have any advice for future employees in your position?

SN: Remember that you will be dealing with a lot of different personalities, you must learn how to handle certain people in certain ways.

 

GW: What’s your favorite part about living in Detroit?

SN: Going downtown to sporting events.. especially opening day for the Tigers.

 

GW: What teams are you rooting for this year?

SN: Tigers, Lions, Red Wings, and Michigan Wolverines.
