Since 1844, St. Vincent and Sarah Fisher Center has served southeastern Michigan. The Center’s 170-year longevity is due to its devotion to its mission of serving children and families. With free, personalized, one-on-one educational programs to children and adults, SVSF works to help students overcome barriers and obtain academic and economic success. Through four locations, SVSF helps hundreds of students work toward obtaining their GEDs and helps children through after-school and summer programs. Changing lives – one student at a time.
SVSF welcomes all kinds of volunteers, one day or long-term, who are matched with their areas of interest. There is always a great need for tutoring (all four locations), but also those with clerical or gardening skills, and those who can offer special children’s activities or professional services. SVSF wants its volunteers to have meaningful experiences. Call 313-535-9200 x3104.
